A few years ago I happened to become the landlord of a tiny piece of the magic Rhodope mountain. A stone house and a barn accompanied by a little piece of land. Already back then I envisioned this place as a small ant tidy garden with a cosy home where friends gather, where dear guests relax, refresh their bodies and souls, engage in creative activities. The intention was to open the home and the garden to all well-meaning people ready to learn something new or share their own knowledge and experience. To taste some of the juicy fruits growing in the garden, to take rest under the shadow of a tree or lay down on the meadow among the aromatic herbs and the buzzing bees. And when dawn comes to gather around the fireplace or contemplate the thousands of stars covering the clear night sky.
Now, a few years later, I want to make this dream come true.
The house and the barn have been built some 40 years ago and actually just partly completed. Both buildings need full renovation – roofs, windows, dоors, ceilings and floors… everything but the main stone construction is to be (re)made. There is also a lot of work to be done in the garden as well, on water catchment and management, and on irrigation. Much work ahead, as well as plenty of possibilities to be creative!
The work on the renovation project begun some time ago. I work together with an experienced architect to develop a complete vision of the future state of the buildings.
This made me start to work on yet another main vision about the whole place – making it a one common home to all friends who can, in one way or another, contribute to the idea. So they can come whenever they want and stay as long as they need, provided there is an opportunity for it.
Hence my first step in this direction, supported by such a friend – the creation of this website, through which I want to seek support for this undertaking. From everyone who can find something for him/herself here. Or is just willing to help.
In short the main idea is as follows:
• Renovation of house, barn and garden
• Establishing a place for relaxation, recharging, creativity, exchange of ideas and experience.
• Contribution from the people who are going to use this place.
